Penguins Attention

Summer at Grandma's

We are having fun at Grandma's! Fishing, swimming, and riding bikes. Ada is still a bit timid on her new big bike, but slowly she's becoming braver. Max is close to walking, taking multiple steps and standing up to walk when he gets excited about something. He is becoming such a boy- throwing everything and chucking his food instead of eating it. I ahve already had to read the book "Hands are NOT for Hitting" book. Yeah I can't wait until 2! He still sleeps lightly. Ada is playing with her cousins 24 hours a day and trying to control them- They are probably getting a little tired of playing princess games. They have bben good sports. The parade was fun- a big advertisement essentially for Eagle River. candy galore- kids were filling their bags. We have been deep swimming off the boat and tubing. Max loves to drive the boat and the new fire car he got from a rummage sale. By the end of this trip he will definietly be walking. We miss daddy and occasionally have melt downs about him. Soon we will be home- back to the hot SLC! The weather has been great here- keep posted for new developments.

The Fendler cousins 2008- Ada, Danny, and Tommy had a blast hanging out in Oouray this past week. They played hard every night until 10 pm. Danny and Ada gave Aunt Sue a scare when they snuck off to Ada's condo to play for an hour- no one knew where they went. Luckily they were ok. The mountains are big and grand in ouray and the kids did some great hiking. Everyone was in attendance except the Chris passalacqua family and the Mike fendler family. Maybe next time.

Maxwell's friend

Maxwell and Charlie Hodge- born four days apart. Will grow up to be good buddies i think. Here they are at 14 mo. Charlie is just about walking and Max is not close yet. They have see each other grow up along the way and they will do music class together this fall. Karyn is Charlie's mom and my good friend. Lily is charlies sister and Ada's good friend.

Syracuse Bachelor Mine tour

This is the syracuse Bachelor mine tour in Ouray, CO. We were all geared up to go 1000 ft. into the mine. There was water dripping and it was very dark. We learned a lot about what the miners did in the old days and how hard they had to work to get a little bit of silver and gold. Very interesting!

Ada's 3rd Birthday

Ada's 3rd Birthday at Liberty Park....

Ada's 4th B'Day @ Liberty park

Ada celebrated her 4th B'day at teh Liberty Park Rides again this year. She has grown so much and matured. She will go to a Fine Arts Preschool this fall and I'm sure that will be right up her alley. We are off to see Grandma soon in Eagle River- Ada loves her friends and cousins so much...She just loves to play and can't get enough of her friends. Attached is also a pic of her third B'day at Liberty Park- you can sure tell a difference. Her favorite ride is the carousel and ferris wheel with aunt Liz.

Maxwell's First Birthday

Maxwell celbrated his first B'day at the Laird Park and at home with mom, dad and sis. Definitely not a huge celbration, but just enough. He had a cookie cake and we had friends at the park on a sunny afternoon celebrating with bloody mary's. Grandma and Grandpa were in town. Here are a few pics...

The Birds

Ada has really gotten into nature these days. Birds are one of her favorites.
we just bought some feeders to hang from the deck. She loves to look at at dinner and identify the birds she sees eating. I had no idea it was so expensive to continue to feed these greedy birds.
I think I will lay off for summer, plus the poop is insane! I'm glad she has such a strong desire to learn. It is truly amazing to see her grow.

A School play and fun in the snow

Ada's school did a cute little "all school play" this year- in pure Waldorf style it was based on the hunt for the spring fairy. Ada was a butterfly along with her friend Mila. It was cute, but hard to hear the children's lines. We have a video if anyone is dying to see. Ada enjoyed Waldof and really blossomed there. She can play with anything and learned to really enjoy her natural world. Teacher Jeremy and Miss Melissa were great teachers for her. Next fall she will go to a Fine Arts preschool which will be very different from what she is used to. I'm sure she will love it!

The Boys

The Boys- Reed Boyer and Maxwell asleep in the chariot. Grtechen and matt came to visit in March. We got some good skiing in and the boys got acquainted. Reed is a very easy baby and we sure do miss Gretchen and Matt. Wish you lived closer!

Happy Max

"Happy Max was a boy he was feeling happy, and you could never prevent Max from feeling happy!" Tom has taken these words and put them to the song "Happy Jack" by the WHO. He sings it frequently to Max which really makes him happy and smilely. If Max would just sleep he would be the perfect baby.
